Aquanauts Livingston ASC is seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to lead their Learn to Swim Programme.
Aquanauts is based in Livingston and has a well-established and growing Learn to Swim Programme with room for further expansion.
Lessons are currently delivered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at The James Young High and Inveralmond CHS in Livingston. Our programme teaches children from age 4 upwards, allowing them to progress from complete beginners through various levels to achieve confidence in swimming.
We also provide Rookie Lifeguard lessons. Classes are small to ensure the best possible experience. The successful candidate will run our lessons programme, delivering swimming lessons and coordinating the activities of up to 8 teachers as well as a number of teaching assistants from our club’s Young Leader Programme. They are expected to schedule teachers and oversee their continual professional development.
The role also involves assessing swimmer development and coordinating progression between levels with encouragement to link to club if and when appropriate. The programme leader will liaise with Aquanauts club head coach to ensure a seamless pathway for swimmers.
The programme leader will also be responsible for ensuring clear feedback of swimmer development to parents, issuing letters at the start of each block of lessons and requesting payment for lessons. They will liaise with the club treasurer to ensure timely payment for lessons. The programme leader will provide a monthly report to the Aquanauts committee and attend the monthly committee meeting on a regular basis.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and PVG Scheme Membership. We are looking for the successful coach to be qualified to Level 2 UKCC/STA/ASA standard, have a SPC qualification and ideally be licenced with Scottish Swimming.
