Fife’s Fond Farewell for FIPRE

The final round of the Fife Leagues on 17th June brings down the curtain on swimming galas in the existing pool at FIPRE, Glenrothes.

Work is underway on the new £18 million Michael Woods sports and leisure centre, due to open in April 2013. This new facility will boast a 25m x 17m eight lane competition swimming pool with a gallery for 250 spectators, a 20m x 10m training pool with underwater movable floor, a 11m x 5m teaching/remedial pool and a modern wet-side change area with adjoining health suite.

Inverleith’s Fiona Anderson will be carrying the Olympic Torch through Greenlaw on 14th June. After many years of dedication to Inverleith ASC as Swimmer, Coach, Head Coach and President, in addition to serving on various committees Fiona well deserves this honour.

Lothian Leagues Latest

After a day of closely fought competition, only Haddington, who won the 8/9 boys prevented a whitewash by Warrender.

Warrender won the 8/9 girls, 10/11 girls, 10/11 boys (Warrender B) 12/13 girls, 12/13 boys, 14+ girls and 14+ boys.

Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks to everyone for an exciting day of competition.
