Congratulations to Les Rodger on being awarded SASA Life Membership

Les started as a timekeeper and has progressed through all of the positions achievable through to Referee (2008)

His role on the National Committee started in 2011and he has been there ever since.

Les became Chair of the OW committee in 2013 and stood down in 2018.  In 2021 he again became Chair of the OW committee

Les’s commitment to OW is a passions which also sees all of his family involved.

Les is also on the East District OW committee and with his forward thinking he brought in the East District Open Water Mini Meet which is a success even today.

Les has been a long serving member of the Open Water Committee and has been instrumental in bringing the sport to where it is today.

The awarding of Life Membership to Les would see well deserved recognition as to the invaluable commitment he has given over all the years and never letting the sport stagnate but pushed things forward with his usual unassuming way

Les has a saying that I have heard him use often :

‘Anyone who feels they are not very good at things just hasn’t yet discovered what they are good at.’
