Congratulations to Lesley Bloomer on becoming a life member of SASA East District.
Lesley has been involved in Aquatic Sport for over 24 years.
She became bored swimming lengths and when looking for something more, she discovered Synchronised (now Artistic) Swimming, describing it as ‘a bit like gymnastics underwater – such good fun and a hoot.’
From this ‘hoot’ came the club now known as Fife Artistic Swimming, founded and driven by Lesley.
Running and keeping a club relevant and afloat (pardon the pun) is no easy task as we can all agree and Fife Artistic has been close to folding a few times but for Lesley’s determination and passion.
She has been the backbone of the club and without her Fife Artistic Swimming would not be the club it is today, fully inclusive and welcoming to all. A newly created Master’s section of the club is the only Master’s Artistic section in Scotland.
As a member of many different committees and the Scottish Artistic Committee, her voice is well heard in trying to get deep water as part of new swimming pools.
