With 57% of our membership female and on the back of some feedback that many clubs are not seeing enough boys come through at the club entry level, Scottish Swimming is delighted to launch a #BoysInSport Week to help showcase the positive benefits of our sports and encourage more boys into aquatics.
Previous projects to champion girls in sport, such as Project Ailsa, have been very successful with five of the six Scottish members of the Olympic team female. However, as some clubs struggle to get enough boys, we will do some special features to celebrate boys and men in sport during a campaign starting today October 10th,
Today Scottish Swimming launches the Baltic Boys film as part of our ACTIVE COMMUNITIES focus which also coincides with World Mental Health Day. This is a men’s group who meet every Sunday to ‘dook’ in the North Sea in Aberdeen and gain all the physical and mental health benefits that brings.
